Guest Blogger: My Midlife Fashion
Featuring guest bloggers is something we at Ottoman Hands have been wanting to do for a while. So, without further ado. Meet Jane from My Midlife Fashion. A self confessed shopaholic, My Midlife Fashion looks at how hitting forty doesn't mean an end to being stylish, on the contrary Jane's blog features regular 'What I'm wearing posts' and reviews of brands she loves which we are honoured to be a part of. Enjoy!About Jane:Having always loved fashion & putting together outfits, urged on by my hubby & son & the impending approach of the big four-0, last year I found myself taking a huge step outside of my comfort zone to set up my fashion blog ‘My Midlife Fashion’. Covering all things fashion related from daily outfit posts & where you can ‘shop my style’, to showcasing new brands & fashions My Midlife Fashion seeks to explore my fashion journey & showcase how you can incorporate up to the minute trends with stylish finds from the high street.Taking A Look At Ottoman Hands & My Outfit Of The DaySo come on hands up, how many of us secretly hope for a jewellery sized box neatly wrapped under the Christmas tree come the 25th?!!! Yup I'll admit I certainly wouldn't mind a box or two of this shape & size containing a new bit of jewellery, after all it's a great way to breathe new life into our wardrobes & if we're honest how many of us would love to say to our other halves 'if I can't wear it I don't want it'?! Whilst of course a diamond or two wouldn't go amiss, stunning jewellery doesn't have to be expensive & one of the best ways of creating a stunning look is by wearing a key piece of jewellery. I'm a great believer in the fact that by wearing something that little bit different to the norm you can really create a stunning statement. One brand of jewellery that I've featured previously on the blog is Ottoman Hands but if you haven't heard of them, they were established in 2009 & are a British based, Turkish inspired jewellery company created by Deniz Gurdal. Deniz works closely with local Turkish gem cutters & artisans to create one of a kind jewellery in modern designs that are loyal to the beauty of ancient Ottoman jewellery making traditions. Each piece is finished in 21ct gold plated brass & feature stunning semi-precious stones & they really do create some stunning pieces at very sensible prices.Needless to say there's lots of gorgeous pieces that are catching my inner magpie's eye so today I thought that just in case your other half needs a bit of present buying inspiration, or you feel you deserve a little pre-Christmas treat for all that present buying, wrapping & card writing, I'd feature some of my favourites pieces.
So today I thought I'd show you just how a couple of key pieces of jewellery can transform you outfit.
Here I am wearing a simple little black dress, something we've all got hanging in our wardrobes & will no doubt see a lot of us wearing over the coming few weeks.
IMG_2552In the next picture I've teamed the dress with my new jewellery & as you can see they totally transform a simple black dress & make the outfit so much more eye catching.IMG_2554 IMG_2553 IMG_2555 Finally here's what I'm wearing today & I just couldn't resist wearing my new jewellery.IMG_2548 Perhaps you've seen some of their pieces in John Lewis or House of Fraser or one of the other high street brands they sell in? Maybe you even own a piece or two? Or perhaps something I've featured has just caught your eye & you're hoping Santa might leave a piece or two under the tree. post signature Read more from Jane at My Midlife Fashion.Click for links to Open Cuff and Aquam ring.
