Ottoman Hands SS18 Trends and How to Wear Them Now

With the Fashion Month in full swing, world’s most stylish crowds are migrating to London for four days of beautiful pret-a-porter, chic parties and some serious street-style action. So to keep you up to date with this fashion whirlwind we have rounded up our favourite Spring/Summer 18 trends to try now and wear well into the season.

If we had to describe the season in just a few words, and trust us, it has been difficult to sum-up all the action into key adjectives, it has to be Bold, Fun and somewhat Nostalgic: think the good old Super-model era, blissfully resurrected by Donatella Versace on her SS18 catwalk. Designers across New York, London, Milan & Paris have looked to beauty and positivity to power through all the turmoil and instability of the world. From primary colours at Phillip Lim, Roksanda, Marni and Isabel Marant to embellishments galore at Oscar De La Renta, Erdem, Balenciaga and Margiela. The catwalks were set ablaze, sprinkled with sequins, peppered with fringing and given an 80s zest with bubble hems, poufs and metallic sheen. Evening looks were bold and fun and day looks captured attention with strength and confidence. Dries van Noten summed up the alacrity of the season, dedicating his Spring/Summer collection to the Optimist ‘she knows the rules to break the rules. Cocktails at five. Addicted to fun, elegance...'

Jewellery continued to delight and inspire keeping it’s statement status and boldly carrying it through from collection to collection. Large medallions at Balmain, art-school bright earrings at Armani and shoulder-grazers at Ellie Saab and Topshop.

Paint the day bright with bold strokes of colour. Mix warm punchy hues and wear them head to toe, as seen at Versace, Acne, Calvin Klein. Choose complimentary colours or go monochrome, have fun and let the world know about it. Accessorise with statement pendants, artistic and treasure-box worthy (as spotted at Giambattista Valli, Loewe, Tory Burch) and lots of gold bracelets (Cavalli, Dior).

Pencil skirts and the sassy elegance that comes with them have seen a glorious revival. Sequined at Erdem, plaid at Balenciaga, striped at Fendi, designers have treated us to a stunning selection, just take your pic. We love ours bright and patterned with a sprinkle of sequins at the ankle, opulent layers of gold stacking rings across the fingers (think Chloe side stacks) and neo hoop earrings at the earlobes (Oscar De La Renta, Cavalli)

Beautifully draped and layered sheer dresses is our favourite evening-wear trend of the season. Ethereal at Preen, darkly seductive at Dolce & Gabanna, embellished and sumptous at Erdem, maxi, mini, barely there… We will wear ours with Disco inspired earrings (as seen at Isabel Marant, Chanel, Stela MacCartney) and sculptural gold rings (Saint Laurent, Y/Project).
