Happy Spring! With all those beautifully inspiring warm days round the corner we can’t help but get excited about the upcoming celebrations, especially all those amazing wedding celebrations we have been lucky enough to receive invitations to. So to get us into the spirit, and to offer our gorgeous brides to be some expert wedding tips, we have caught up with one of our favourite bridal dress designers – Catherine Deane – to talk about dresses, inspirations, planning and, of course, wedding jewelry.
With holidays just round the corner, we have decided to give you a little insight into a very Ottoman Hands Christmas and what our team gets up to this time of year (apart form lovingly packing and shipping your gorgeous gems).

Yesterday marked the start of a wonderful cultural event – Museums at Night, which celebrates brilliant heritage of not only our dazzling capital, but many cities and towns across the UK. For this event, museums, galleries and heritage sites are invited to throw open their doors after hours to allow culture buffs to soak up the atmosphere and discover historical treasures in new and unexpected ways (think a calligraphy workshop at National Gallery and much more). To celebrate Museum’s at Night we have picked three amazing historical and cultural hubs in London that have a special meaning to us. Each of these magnificent cultural treasuries is not only frequented by our team, but hosts an exclusive selection of Ottoman Hands jewellery designed and handmade specifically for them.
Patient, loving, caring, nurturing and compassionate are just some of the endless qualities they possess … What would we do without our Mums? They are the beautiful souls who have been there for us in good times and bad times, who always make us see the light at the end of the tunnel and have a kind word to say. Mother’s Day is not only an acknowledgment of how amazing our mums are, but a celebration of exceptional women, sisters, friends and daughters. It is also a wonderful excuse to show just how grateful we are to have these strong women in our lives. We believe, that when it comes to surprising her with a Mother’s Day gift, there are endless options, however, saying thank you with a present, that holds sentimental value, holds so much meaning and pleasure. Jewellery has always had a special place in our hearts, be it a beautifully intricate adornment, found during the latest travels or a precious heirloom passed down from generation to generation. It has been given as a gift for centuries and every culture seems to have left its mark and added its own meaning to this precious object of art. For example, in medieval Europe jewellery was not only seen as a symbol of wealth and status, but believed to be a sacred amulet, protecting the wearer from harm and evil. To this day, wearing our lucky gemstone necklace or slipping on a pair of gorgeous gold earrings, gifted by our favourite grandma, makes us feel happy and unique.
Here at Ottoman Hands, we firmly believe in the special connection between the person and their gems. We think that vibrant semi-precious stones we choose for our handmade treasures have powerful energies and wonderful meanings, making for a truly meaningful Christmas gift. On this note, let us whisk you away on a journey of discovering our favourite gemstone wonders. The only thing left to do is decide which precious stone is perfect for you and your loved ones…
