Turquoise Mountain X OH

We are proud to introduce Turquoise Mountain x Ottoman Hands, a collection created by skilled jewellers in the heart of Kabul’s old city.

The collection

We have worked closely with Turquoise Mountain to create a capsule collection of Afghan-inspired jewellery.

Every piece is made by hand, using traditional practices and set with Lapis Lazuli, the ancient gemstone of Afghanistan. Its name means “stone from heaven” and has been associated with strength, royalty and wisdom. Additionally, hand carved Malachite, Green Onyx and Agate create the perfect collection of celestial-inspired gemstones.

Discover limited edition reversible gemstone necklaces, stacking earrings and delicate pendants designed for layering that will become your everyday jewellery staple.

Turquoise Mountain

Turquoise Mountain was established in 2006 by His Majesty King Charles III to revive historic areas and traditional Afghan crafts, to provide jobs, skills and a renewed sense of pride, instead of charity.

Since then, they have established the Institute for Afghan Arts and Architecture, an institution that has trained thousands of artisans and builders in practices such as jewellery and gem-cutting, calligraphy, miniature painting, ceramics, and woodwork.

In addition to their work in preserving Afghan arts and historical buildings, they have also built the Turquoise Mountain Family Health Clinic and the Turquoise Mountain Primary School in Kabul.

For their amazing work in Afghanistan, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia and Jordan, Turquoise Mountain are recipients of a UNESCO Cultural Heritage Award.

"I am so proud today to see young Afghan women and men
bringing their beautifully crafted products to markets around
the world, from their workshops in the restored heart of
Kabul’s Old City."

- HM King Charles III
