Ottoman Hands is an independent jewellery brand that beautifully blends Eastern and Western design to craft handcrafted, sustainable jewellery pieces.

Founded by Deniz Gürdal on London’s iconic Portobello Road in 2010, our brand has organically flourished, becoming a favourite among stars and featured prominently in blockbuster shows such as Emily in Paris, Game of Thrones, and Sex Education.

Nestled on East London’s vibrant Whitechapel Road, our small team designs small batches of unique jewellery, meticulously crafted by hand in our Istanbul workshop.

Job Title: Marketing & Social Media Intern (Paid)
Location: Hybrid or Remote
Working Pattern: 4 Days per Week / 20 hours 
Start Date: Immediate 

About the Role

We are looking for a creative and motivated Marketing & Social Media Intern to join our team. This is a paid internship ideal for someone who loves creating content, and wants hands-on experience in digital marketing within a growing fashion jewellery brand.
You will support the marketing team with content creation, social media management, and campaign execution across multiple platforms. As a small and dynamic team, we’re also looking for someone who is happy to support other areas of the business when needed.
 

Key Responsibilities

•    Create engaging social media content (posts, stories, reels, graphics, short-form videos)
•    Design visual assets using Canva, Photoshop, or other design tools
•    Assist in planning and scheduling content calendars
•    Research trends, hashtags, competitors, and content ideas
•    Support campaign launches and marketing initiatives
•    Help with community management (responding to comments and DMs)
•    Contribute creative ideas for content, collaborations, and growth
•    Be happy to assist and support other areas of the business when required
 

Main Requirements

•    Good working knowledge of Canva, Photoshop, or other design tools
•    Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and other social platforms
•    A good eye for aesthetics and visual storytelling
•    Basic understanding of branding and visual consistency
•    Strong written communication skills
•    Organised, proactive, and detail-oriented
•    Ability to work independently in a hybrid or remote setting
