Turquoise

The name ‘Turquoise’ is a French word for Turkish. The history of this gemstone is long and storied. South American tribes, such as the Aztecs, considered this stone to be sacred and used it in adornments crafted for important ceremonies and rituals. Early Persians believed that Turquoise represented the heavens because of its beautiful blue colour and used it to cover the domes of palaces and places of worship.

Turquoise is popular for it’s protective qualities against negative energies. It represents the water element in Feng Shui, attracts wealth and brings peace and vitality to romantic relationships. Turquoise is used in healing the Throat and the Brow Chakras (Third Eye). It strengthens the meridian and helps to find the wholesomeness and truth.

Turquoise is believed to alleviate stomach problems and rheumatism. It relaxes the muscles and increases their strength.
